50 years after Vietnam, historian says we're still living with the fallout
On the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War ending —and one day after Trump’s 100-day mark— Historian Doris Kearns Goodwin joined #MorningJoe to reflect on the deepening distrust in government, tracing it back to the Vietnam era, adding that today’s attacks on public servants risk permanently damaging faith in civil service:
“Unless our best people go back into government, we’re really going to have a problem… we have to begin to believe in that civil service again— which is being decimated.”
