A Liberal-run parliament may not be possible until the 2030s
The overwhelming defeat of the Coalition has experts saying they will only be back in office in the 2030s.
While no one has officially put up their hand to be the new Opposition leader, Shadow Defence Minister Andrew Hastie has shown interest in the position.
“I think personally he’s a great option if there were, he’s strong, he’s 42 years old … it’s that youth factor, but the issue is is that the Liberals hid him throughout this whole campaign James, he was not front and centre,” Sky News host Danica De Giorgio said.
“The question has to be asked: Are we witnessing the death of conservative politics?”
