In the summer, there may simply be no drinking water left. For this reason, the local population is seriously dissatisfied with the Russian government. Even the people's leader against the government is not excluded.<br /><br />Over the years of occupation, Russia has brought Donbass to ruin: the former industrial and economically developed region of Ukraine is turning into a desert. Even Russian TV is already filming stories about this. It's amazing to what extent they managed to ruin everything, people on the Internet note.<br /><br />According to journalist and blogger Denis Kazansky, Russia has destroyed water resources in Donbass by pumping out all major reservoirs, but has not provided the region with a stable water supply. Even Russian TV channels are beginning to acknowledge the problem: for example, the Russia 1 channel showed a catastrophic shallowing of the Krynka River in a report.<br />The once full-flowing Krynka, one of the largest rivers in the region, now looks like a swampy depression. The water has receded tens of meters from its former banks, revealing a bottom overgrown with reeds. Fishing boats have run aground, and former tourist resorts have been abandoned. Local residents are in despair: pumps continue to pump water from the rivers, but it simply spills out into the steppe. Pumping stations, instead of delivering water to homes, create artificial swamps. The water leaves, leaving behind devastation and lifeless landscapes.<br />The Russian occupation administration is trying to explain the water crisis by dry weather and winters with little snow. However, residents, remembering previous drought years, claim that this has never happened before. Donbass has always been a region with limited water resources, but reservoirs have never dried up to such an extent. The reason is not the climate, but the destroyed infrastructure: the water pipeline from the Seversky Donets, which used to supply Donetsk and Makeyevka, was destroyed by the Russian army during the offensive. After that, Russia tried to build an alternative water pipeline from the Rostov region, but the project was a failure: the pipes burst during the construction stage.<br />The lack of qualified personnel and theft at all levels have led to a complete collapse of the public utilities. The water pipes in Donetsk and Makeyevka are leaking, the pumps are pumping water into nowhere, and repair work is practically not being carried out because there are simply no specialists: everyone was mobilized and sent to the front. Summer in Donbass has always been dry with temperatures reaching 32°. Now that the main reservoirs have emptied, the situation threatens to become critical. Residents of some areas already receive water only a few hours a day, and with the onset of heat, the water may disappear completely. In Donetsk and neighboring cities, people are forced to look for alternative sources of water: collecting rainwater or storing it in reservoirs.
