पंजाब नेशनल बैंक लोन फ्रॉड के आरोपी मेहुल चोकसी को बेल्जियम में गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है। बेल्जियम पुलिस ने हीरा व्यापारी मेहुल चोकसी की गिरफ्तारी की है। चोकसी को शनिवार को केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो के आग्रह पर गिरफ्तार किया गया और फिलहाल वह जेल में है। भारतीय जांच एजेंसियों ने बेल्जियम के अधिकारियों को एक औपचारिक पत्र भेजा था, जिसमें चोकसी की गिरफ्तारी की मांग की गई थी, क्योंकि उसे उस देश में देखा गया था। इसके बाद बेल्जियम पुलिस ने 23 मई 2018 और 15 जून 2021 को मुंबई कोर्ट से जारी वारंट के आधार पर चोकसी को गिरफ्तार किया।

Indian investigative agencies had sent a formal letter to the Belgian authorities, demanding the arrest of Choksi as he was seen in that country. After this, the Belgian police arrested Choksi on the basis of warrants issued by the Mumbai Court on 23 May 2018 and 15 June 2021.
