Anthony Albanese has reassured Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy that a number of Australian tanks are on their way to help repel Russia’s invasion.
A meeting was held on the sidelines of Pope Leo’s inauguration mass, which was attended by world leaders.
The prime minister also responded cautiously to a push from the European Union to deepen defence cooperation.
