Analysing Safety Of Armouries As Explosion Hits Army Barracks In Borno
The Borno State Government has attributed the multiple explosions that rocked Giwa Barracks in Maiduguri late Thursday night to extreme heat, dismissing speculation that the blasts were the result of a terrorist attack.
In a statement issued by the Directorate of Fire Service, Ministry of Information and Internal Security, the government said preliminary investigations suggest the fire outbreak that ignited the barracks’ armoury was likely triggered or intensified by high temperatures currently sweeping through Maiduguri.
