hinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow on May 7 for his 11th visit to Russia and attend the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Soviet Union’s Great Patriotic War. President Xi emphasized China’s deep yearning for peace and underscored the stability of the China-Russia relationship. In this edition of The Hub, Wang Guan talked to Mark Sleboda, an international relations and security analyst, Zhao Long, deputy director and senior fellow at the Institute for International Strategic & Security Studies, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, and to Rong Ying, chair professor at Sichuan University and senior fellow at the China Institute of International Studies, to discuss both China’s and Russia’s major contribution to the fight against fascism during WWII and how it has always been underrated in the West. Panelists also noted that China-Russia ties have been forged in history and looked at their significance in the promotion of a multipolar world.
