Andrew Hastie reflects on why he didn't run for Liberal Party leadership
Shadow Defence Minister Andrew Hastie discusses the reasons why he didn’t run for Liberal Party leadership.
This comes after Sussan Ley became the first female leader in the history of the Federal Liberal Party.
“It’s a challenge with a young family,” Mr Hastie told Sky News Australia.
“I’ve got a nine-year-old, a seven-year-old, and a three-year-old. I spoke to my wife Ruth, and it was very clear that I wasn’t in a position to lead and be a good dad and husband at the same time.
“You only get one shot at it and I decided that I owe that to my family first.”
