Asbestos corruption trial set to continue this week - Makgala Masiteng shares more
The trial within a trial in the Ace Magashule case last week focused on the termination of Moroadi Cholota’s bursary.
Magashule’s lawyer, Adv. Laurence Hodes argued that investigators may have influenced the decision to cancel her bursary, hoping it would force her to return to South Africa and testify against him.
The state denies this, saying they only reported the facts to the Free State Director-General.
There was also debate over whether Cholota was fairly declared a fugitive and if this court even has the jurisdiction to hear her case.
The trial is set to continue next Wednesday and SABC News reporter Makgala Masiteng has been following it closely in Bloemfontein.
