Backlog in payments owed to court interpreters in the Western Cape
The Justice and Constitutional Development Department in the Western Cape says it has temporarily increased their financial capacity, in order to clear a backlog in payments owed to a group of non-permanent foreign language court interpreters.
The interpreters have embarked on a stay-away action since Monday, over what they claim, are delayed payments,
Which some say have accrued for several years.
Their strike action is expected to cause delays in court operations, especially in matters where interpreters are required.
