Ben Rhodes: Situation in Gaza ‘unimaginably worse than we can even tell from the outside’
As attempts are made for a new ceasefire in Gaza and Israel is garnering criticism from nations not normally critical, former Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes says the humanitarian situation has been “materially worse there over the last few weeks than it has been since October 7th.” Netanyahu has “prioritized the control and bombardment of Gaza over any diplomacy,” says Rhodes. But while the Trump administration shows signs of frustration with Netanyahu, “they’re not withholding any assistance…It’s not like the U.S. is using its real leverage here.”
