Blanchet offers condolences for Vancouver attack, defends continuing campaign
Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet offered condolences Saturday to the families, victims, and journalists impacted by the Vancouver attack.
Blanchet said it would be “terrible” to imply that campaigning leaders lack compassion, stressing that emotions must be balanced with responsibilities.
He said leaders have been asked about broader issues beyond the tragedy and are entitled to continue addressing them.
Blanchet added that his team deeply feels the pain of those affected, even while completing the final days of the campaign.
