Brazil police thwart bomb plot targeting Lady Gaga’s concert
Police in Brazil have revealed they have stopped a potential bomb threat at a free Lady Gaga concert attended by more than two million people.
Police have thwarted the plot, orchestrated by a group which promotes hate speech against the LGBT+ community.
More than 10 raids were carried out over various areas in Brazil.
Two people – a man and a teenager – have been arrested in connection to the alleged plot.
“We learned about this alleged threat via media reports this morning. Prior to and during the show, there were no known safety concerns, nor any communication from the police or authorities to Lady Gaga regarding any potential risks,” a spokesperson for Lady Gaga said.
“Her team worked closely with law enforcement throughout the planning and execution of the concert, and all parties were confident in the safety measures in place.”
