National Treasury says it is actively preparing for the presentation of the national budget, which has been dubbed “Budget 3.0”.
As the nation approaches the critical date of May 21, Deputy Minister of Finance David Masondo says the Treasury is finalizing the crucial documents that will outline the government’s financial strategy for the upcoming fiscal year.
Since the 0.5% increase in the VAT rate is now off the table, the Budget 3.0 will force government to make the difficult decisions on how and where to get the revenue shortfall.
