Canada election 2025: Poilievre promises tougher ethics rules, targets Carney’s assets
Conservative Pierre Poilievre is promising to tighten transparency rules for elected officials, pledging to ban what he calls “shadow lobbying.”
Poilievre took aim at Liberal Leader Mark Carney on Sunday, saying the rule would have forced Carney to register as a lobbyist when he advised former prime minister Justin Trudeau.
He said he would also require cabinet ministers “divest fully from tax havens.”
