Canada Post workers issue strike notice for May 23
Mail delivery for Canadians and business owners may be disrupted as early as Friday after Canada Post received a 72-hour strike notice from the union representing some 55,000 postal workers.
A strike or lockout would mark the second time in under six months the postal service ground to a halt after 55,000 employees walked off the job for 32 days in November and December.
This comes as a new report sheds more light on the Crown Corporation’s business situation, with findings that Canada Post is “effectively insolvent.”
