The Canadian labour market stalled somewhat in April as early impacts from the U.S. tariffs started to appear in economic data.
The country added just 7,400 new jobs, while the unemployment rate ticked higher by 0.2 per cent to 6.9 per cent.
Temporary hires for the federal election masked a sizeable drop in manufacturing jobs.
