Canadian man wrongly accused of drug smuggling in Dominican Republic returns home
In a Global News exclusive, David Bennett shares his story after being wrongly accused of drug smuggling and stranded in the Dominican Republic for months.
The 57-year-old Ontario man was arrested in February and the charges were eventually dropped.
Now back in Canada, he spoke from his hometown in Burlington about the emotional toll of the false charges and what it means to finally be home after a lengthy ordeal.
