‘Challenging time’: Nationals decide to split from Coalition
Deputy Opposition Leader Ted O’Brien claims despite the Coalition breaking down he would describe both him and Opposition Leader Sussan Ley as a “coalitionist”.
The Coalition has imploded over policy differences as the Nationals officially split from the Liberals.
“We would prefer to see the Liberal Party and the National Party working together,” Mr O’Brien said.
“But of course, yesterday, the National Party … did decide that they want to walk away from the Coalition.
“That is a very challenging time now for everyone.”
