Chalmers confirms politicians and judges will be subject to new superannuation taxes
Treasurer Jim Chalmers has made assurances politicians and judges who receive large retirement benefits will still be subject to new superannuation taxes.
He’s also downplayed warnings from some economists that the changes will hurt investment in small business and start-ups.
Mr Chalmers dismissed suggestions the tax increase would be unfair, saying those who received the defined pension benefit wouldn’t be exempt.
