Church in Rustenburg calls for removal of Bishop
Aggrieved members of the Roman Catholic Church Diocese in Rustenburg in North West, gathered at the St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Phokeng, demanding that one of their bishops and some of the priests be removed. Police escorted the bishop Robert Mphiwe to safety on Wednesday after angry parishioners had confronted him at St Peter’s Church in Tlhabane.
They accuse him of abusing his power and misusing the church funds.
