Coalition confident of taking 10 seats from Labor
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton is confident the Coalition can secure close to a dozen seats in the upcoming election.
According to The Australian, the Coalition is aiming to take as many as 10 seats from Labor, three seats from Teal independents and one from the Greens, despite the Opposition falling behind Labor in recent polls.
Strategists have confirmed stronger support during pre-polling for the Coalition compared to the 2022 election.
Labor will fall into a minority government if the Coalition can pick up at least 10 seats.
The latest polling by Freshwater Strategy for The Financial Review shows Labor leading the Coalition on a two-party preferred basis, 51.5 per cent to 48.5 per cent.
