Coalition’s vote loss in Victoria more ‘pronounced’ in urban and suburban areas
Redbridge Group Director Kos Samaras says the Coalition’s votes in Victoria are falling to minor parties, claiming the trend is more “pronounced” in urban and suburban areas.
“Same dynamic, if you look at the votes that have fallen away, they haven’t gone to Labor – I mean, Labor’s primary’s gone up again, only two points, they’re up to about 30, which is still very low,” Mr Samaras said.
“I mean, they ended up on 33 at the last federal election in Victoria in 2022, so, they’re still down.
“The majority are going to minor parties, same trend – and again, in this case, it’s occurring out of suburban areas, but also urban areas of Melbourne as well … only more pronounced.”
