Concern over initiation applications in Limpopo
Some traditional surgeons in Limpopo say they are concerned that the government has not yet approved their applications to operate initiation schools. The winter initiation season in the province will run during the school holidays. Traditional surgeons submitted their applications to the provincial Department of Traditional Affairs for approval. Some of the traditional surgeons who are still waiting for permits blame the government for delaying the process due to what they call unreasonable document requirements.
