Controversial pastor Timothy Omotoso set to leave SA amid legal battles
Televangelist Timothy Omotoso is expected to leave South Africa, and return to Nigeria today. The controversial pastor has had run-ins with the law in South Africa.
He was first arrested in 2017 on allegations of rape and kidnapping, and was acquitted on these charges in April.
Earlier this month, he was arrested again in connection with the contravention of the Immigration Act and was released after two days. The ANC Women’s League in the Eastern Cape has been vocal about their support for the alleged victims of Omotoso.
We now cross to our reporter Lubabalo Dada, in East London to get the reaction of the Women’s league on Omotoso’s departure.
