Cost of mining coal has ‘gone up a lot’ in last few years
Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says it “would be good” to get the cost of mining coal down for Queensland.
Mr Canavan said the cost has “gone up a lot” in the last few years.
“Energy’s a big deal, red tape’s a big deal, and those are the things the federal government can try and fix to bring those costs done and the royalties won’t matter as much.”
