Dept of Public Works hands over bridges to North West residents
Residents of Masutlhe Village near Mahikeng in North West say their newly constructed Welisizwe Rural Bridge has come as a welcome relief after many were left stranded due to flood damaged roads.
This is as the Deputy Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure Sihle Zikalala, together with the MEC for Public Works and Roads Elizabeth Mokua handed over two completed bridges to the communities of Kraaipan and Masutlhe.
The Welisizwe Rural Bridges Programme is aimed at improving safety, access to amenities for rural communities as well as their well-being.
