'Disgusting': Harvard slammed over warning it may euthanise lab animals after Trump funding cuts
Harvard University is facing criticism after suggesting it may be forced to euthanise animals used in medical research due to Donald Trump’s $2.2 billion funding freeze.
The university’s warning has sparked backlash, including from comedian Alex Stein, who labelled the move “sick” and “disgusting.”
Speaking to Sky News host James Morrow, Mr Stein said the issue went beyond animal welfare and reflected a broader political stance.
“The bigger issue is that they’re anti-Trump. They’re trying to, I guess, buck the trend,” he said.
“I’m not surprised that Harvard would kill a few animals to get some vengeance on an administration that they don’t like.”
