Sir Tony Blair has criticised Sir Keir Starmer’s net zero initiatives and urged for a fundamental overhaul of the Government’s environmental policies.
The ex-prime minister stated that it is unjust for individuals to “be expected to make financial sacrifices and lifestyle adjustments when they are aware that their effect on global emissions is negligible.”
In a notable statement, he asserted that lawmakers need to confront “uncomfortable truths,” which indicate that any approach focused on eliminating fossil fuels is “destined to fail.”
