Eastern Cape | Funeral service of WSU student: Dr Lulamile Ntonzima
The funeral of 24-year-old student Sisonke Mbolekwa who was shot dead on Tuesday last week is underway at Matatiele in the Eastern Cape. Mbolekwa who was a student at Walter Sisulu University, was shot on campus allegedly by Residence manager, Manelisi Mampane. Mampane is now facing charges of murder, attempted murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, following the fatal shooting and wounding of two other students. The suspect made a brief court appearance at Mthatha Magistrate’s Court for bail application where student were protesting outside the court for the suspect to be denied bail.
