Eastern Cape | Leaders condemn soaring crime levels
Several prominent leaders in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, including unionists and business leaders, have spoken out against soaring crime levels in the region. They say investors have opted to take their money elsewhere due to crime. Despite several visits by previous and current police ministers, crime remains high in the region. The city is ranked the most violent in the country, according to the SAPS data.
