Eiffel Tower goes dark to mark Pope's passing | ABC NEWS
The lights on the Eiffel Tower switched off on Monday in tribute to Pope Francis, who died earlier in the day at the age of 88.
At 23.30 local time, the lights of the 324-metre landmark were switched off for several minutes.
Francis, the first Latin American leader of the Roman Catholic Church, died after suffering a stroke and cardiac arrest, the Vatican said, ending an often turbulent reign in which he sought to overhaul an ancient and divided institution.
