ESKOM | Eskom outlines plans for winter power supply
Eskom Group chief Executive Dan Marokane is currently briefing the media at Eskom Megawatt Park in Sunninghill, Johannesburg on the company’s operational performance and winter outlook.
This comes after the power utility had almost a year without rolling blackouts, only to implement rolling blackouts in recent months.
Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has provided an update on the status of South Africa’s electricity generation performance and the efforts in place to manage the winter period.
He reported that units 1,2 and 3 at the Kusile power station would be restored by the end of May.
In addition, Unit 4, that had been out of service for about four years, has been reinstated which will add 800 megawatts of power. Let’s listen in.
