ITV News filmed dozens of people, including children, scrambling aboard a dinghy in Dunkirk this morning. It returned twice more to collect people risking their lives to come to the UK.
One man told ITV News that he had attempted to cross the Channel 14 times.
French police were present but failed to stop the boat leaving the shore, as ITV News Correspondent Peter Smith explains in this exclusive report.
