First American Pope calls for peace, unity
Cardinal Robert Prevost has been elected Pontiff – the first American to assume that position. He’s chosen to take the name Pope Leo the 14th.
Loud cheers and emotions ran high when the Pope emerged from the balcony of St Peter’s Basilica. He paid tribute to his predecessor Pope Francis and called for peace.
