Former Obama adviser explains the strategies of Trump, Putin and Zelenskyy | Ukraine War
A former deputy national security adviser says it is likely Ukraine will have to hand over some of its conquered territory to Russia.
Ben Rhodes, who worked under Barack Obama, said Kyiv would need concessions, including security guarantees, for that deal to work.
However, so far the US had “front loaded” all the concessions in favour of Russia.
“The White House strategy has taken Russian positions on Ukraine and turned them into US positions, and then blame the Ukrainians for not embracing those positions to end the war,” he said.
