GBV | Calls for harsher punishment for perpetrators
Children’s rights NPO, the Khula Development Project, is calling on the courts to impose harsher punishments on perpetrators of gender-based violence crimes. It believes this will serve as a deterrent. The remarks come in the wake of the horrific murder of a four-year-old child, her mother and her grandmother in Mdantsane. It is alleged that the child’s father set fire to the dwelling, in which the three victims were living.
