Government 'reviewing' how courts interpret ECHR, says home secretary
The home secretary says the UK will “continue to abide by international law”, despite announcing new measures to deport sex offenders.
Anybody who is on the Sex Offenders’ Register will automatically not be able to claim asylum in the UK.
Yvette Cooper says “at the moment” people such as Abdul Ezedi, the man who carried out an acid attack on a mother and her two children last year, had been granted asylum even though he had been on the Sex Offenders’ Register for a decade.
