    GrainCorp reports 17 per cent surge in net profit

    Australia’s biggest grain handler and distributor GrainCorp is a barometer for the health of rural Australia.

    GrainCorp’s revenue in the half year was up 21 per cent to $4.1 billion.

    Net profit rose 17 per cent to $58 million and the interim dividend was steady at 14 cents, with a special dividend of 10 cents.
