Greens ‘gutted’ about Adam Bandt’s defeat
Greens Senator David Shoebridge says his party is “gutted” over Adam Bandt losing his seat of Melbourne at the federal election.
The Greens will hold a three-way contest between Mehreen Faruqi, Sarah Hanson-Young, and Larissa Waters following Adam Bandt’s electoral defeat.
“This was a tough election environment for us, and we saw this surge of Coalition votes adding to that Labor primary,” Mr Shoebridge told Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.
“It did make it hard for us in Melbourne.”
