This weekend, dalawang mang-aawit ang susubok na i-end ang paghahari ni Essam Gubat sa trono bilang defending champion ng “Tawag Ng Tanghalan” Year 9.
Unang sumabak sa entablado si Chikki Bacaling ng Capiz, na bumirit ng “You Don’t Own Me.” Nagpakitang gilas din si Oscar Panaguiton ng South Cotobato na kinanta ang “Superstition.”
Si Oscar (90.3% score) ang itinanghal na daily winner. Siya ang humamon kay defending champion, Essam, Sa KanTapatan.
Komento ni Punong Hurado Louie Ocampo sa Round 2, naging obvious ang inconsistencies ni Oscar sa pagkanta ng “Sa’yo” by Silent Sanctuary. Samantala, ayon pa rin kay Hurado Louie, in a rush daw si Essam sa pag-perform ng “If I Ain’t Got You” to the point na nawawala na ito sa tono.
