Houthi missile lands near Israel’s main airport, briefly halts flights
A missile launched by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels landed near Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday, briefly halting flights and snarling commuter traffic to Israel’s main airport.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to respond, issuing a warning to Iran.
“We will do what we need to do to take care of our security, to respond effectively, and to give Iran a due warning that this cannot continue,” he said.
The attack came hours before Israeli cabinet ministers were set to vote on a motion to intensify military operations in Gaza, with the Israeli military calling up tens of thousands of reservists in preparation for an expanded assault.
