The world’s first humanoid robot half-marathon took place in Beijing on April 19. Over 9,000 amateur runners ran alongside humanoid robots from nearly 20 robotics firms on a 21.0975-kilometer course. The humanoid robot Tiangong Ultra, developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, won the championship in 2 hours, 40 minutes and 42 seconds – a new “personal best” for the machine. How did it achieve this groundbreaking feat? CGTN talked to Wei Jiaxing from the innovation center to uncover the secrets behind the success.
