US Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called out a Republican colleague for criticising her for speaking to the camera during a House hearing last night.
During the heated debate over cuts to the US’s health program Medicaid, Randy Weber interrupted Ocasio-Cortez to say, “I’m glad you’re addressing us instead of the camera.”
“There are 13.7 million Americans on the other side of that screen right there,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “I am talking to them and I will not yield, because it was a terribly disrespectful comment and I will not yield to disrespectful men.”
