Indians' role in the Anglo-Boer War uncovered: Tokkie Pretorius
The involvement of Indians in the Anglo-Boer War is finally being told through a journal produced by the South African War Museum in Bloemfontein in the Free State. This part of history, which saw more than 5 000 Indians, including Mahatma Gandhi, participate in the war, has been hidden since the war ended in 1902. The journal is titled “Caught in the Crossfire: Journal on Indian Involvement in the South African War of 1899 to 1902”. The museum says it’s important that its work reflects history as it happened and not as it was initially captured.
