Israel-Hamas Conflict | Warning over dying hope for two-State solution
The United Nations Secretary General has told the Security Council that the promise of a two-State solution was at risk of dwindling to the point of disappearance.
Antonio Guterres was addressing a the Council’s quarterly open debate on the Middle East including the Palestinian question.
He recalled how for nearly two months Israel has blocked all life-saving humanitarian aid into the Gaza enclave amid the resumption of hostilities after the collapse of a ceasefire in March while pointing to proceedings currently under way at the International Court of Justice in relation to Israel’s legal obligations to allow and facilitate humanitarian aid in territories it currently occupies.
