“It Feels That Peace Is Closer” | Trump Crticises Putin After Zelensky Meeting At Pope's Funeral
Donald Trump has questioned Vladimir Putin’s willingness to end the Ukraine war after meeting Volodymyr Zelensky at Pope Francis’s funeral.
Trump posted that Russia’s latest missile strikes on Kyiv made him fear Putin was “tapping me along” and suggested tougher sanctions.
Trump and Zelensky spoke for 15 minutes in St Peter’s Basilica, with the White House calling it “very productive.”
Trump had earlier claimed Russia and Ukraine were “very close to a deal” after his envoy met Putin.
The Kremlin said Putin was ready for talks “without preconditions.”
