JD Vance arrives in India for trade negotiations with PM Modi
US Vice President JD Vance has arrived in India for a four-day visit as US President Donald Trump calls the country a “big abuser” on trade.
Mr Vance is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence to begin negotiations on tariffs and a new trade deal.
An announcement is likely on the countries’ partnership program to strengthen defence, critical minerals and pharmaceuticals, as the White House pressures India to buy military equipment.
Mr Vance is accompanied by his wife and their three children.
