JD Vance meets with the Pope on Vatican visit
The US Vice President JD Vance has met Pope Francis in a “quick and private” meeting.
Mr Vance visited the Vatican for talks with its Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
The Vatican noted what it called “an exchange of opinions” and says the pair spoke about a number of international issues, including migration and refugees.
The Vatican previously expressed concern over the Trump administration’s crackdown on migrants and cuts to its international aid budget.
