Judicial Conduct Tribunal | Alleged Sexual harassment probe continue
Judges’ Secretary , Andiswa Mengo and a former JSC official, Kutlwano Moretlwe have given conflicting versions of the circumstances surrounding the initial sexual harassment complaint Mengo filed against Eastern Cape Judge President Selby Mbenenge.
Mengo has previously testified that she did not have a copy of her initial complaint which she was later told was “misplaced”.
However, Moretlwe, the official that assisted her with the December 2022 initial complaint, testified that Mengo did have a copy of the initial complaint.
This evidence is a bone of contention for the misconduct probe, as it will play a crucial role in determining whether Mengo wrote her new complaint without a copy of the initial one – this will determine the credibility of her version before the landmark probe.
